Shiloh and Simon
Exotic animals deserve to stay exotic in their natural environment. I think we can all agree on that. However, sometimes due to various reasons (some ethical, some not), they become captive born and raised and within that fact, would not then survive in their natural environment. In these cases, their continued captive fate is decided and all we can do is give them the best life they deserve. These babies weren’t given all they deserve previously but we know the past heals and the future is bright. What better place to live out that purpose than within a healing and teaching environment?!?
Our non-profit sister company, Enduring Hope, wrote a proposal to serve as a rescue location for this mom and son pair and as an added detail, attained a USDA class C license. What does this mean for you? You can have up close and personal encounters with these sweet babies!
We went through training in sloth care and each of our staff who engage with the sloths have gone through the needed training/education to ensure the comfort and safety of our sloths within their environment, as well as the comfort and safety of the visitors. Remember, sloths don’t really live in our world, they allow and tolerate us to join theirs! And what an honor that is.
Meet baby Simon and his mom Shiloh. They will be helping us teach body regulation, central nervous system regulation, trauma recovery, mindfulness, self control and stress management.
