Heather has 15+ years of experience working with families, couples, teens and children. As a previous director of a Therapeutic Foster Care program, she understands the challenges that come with being a child or raising a child in today’s world. Heather has a passion for working to repair broken relationships in families and helping kids and teens navigate this difficult world.

Heather understands that seeking help can be intimidating, but it is the first step to genuine healing. Heather’s approach is to encourage her clients along their journey by providing compassionate, individualized care in a therapeutic, judgment-free environment.

Heather has a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Oklahoma State University. Heather has received training in Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI) which is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. She is also certified in Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She has specialty trainings in parenting skills to help both biological parents and foster parents navigate parenting and behavioral issues. She also has specialty trainings in the areas of substance abuse and dependency and self-harm. Heather has worked in community mental health as a therapist. She has also been the clinical director for an outpatient counseling program as well as a Director of a Therapeutic Foster Care Program.

In her spare time, you will find Heather hiking, traveling, laying in the hammock reading and spending time with her family. She has a goal of visiting every National Park. So far her favorite is Zion National Park in Utah and Acadia National Park in Maine. She finds the best coping skills are among nature.

Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Depression, Domestic Violence, Trauma, Abuse, PTSD, Parenting Strategies/Interventions/Support, Self-Esteem, Healthy Relationship Skills, Coping Skills, Social Skills, Life Adjustments, Grief/Loss, Behavior Issues, Cutting/Self Harm, Foster Care, Family/Relationship Issues, and Substance Abuse.
