Glenna’s broad based background brings value into her present counseling practice especially in her current work with primarily adults and older teens. Glenna takes a collaborative approach with her clients and she truly believes that each person has their own unique strengths which play a valuable part in the counseling process.
When asked how she would describe her therapeutic process, she responded, “We begin by developing an understanding of where someone is on their journey and what they hope comes from their time in counseling. I am committed to creating an atmosphere where a person feels comfortable exploring the issues that prompted them to seek therapy and feels safe and supported enough to address them in a meaningful way. I integrate a trauma informed perspective into the therapeutic relationship and interventions. I incorporate theoretically sound strategies from cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, attachment based and polyvagal therapies to assist my clients in moving toward their goals. Clients will also build the competence and confidence needed to know how to respond to challenges in a healthy manner moving forward.
